Munro Flood Damage Info By Lynn JonesDecember 20, 2023 Procedure for Flood AssistanceAs a result of the recent storm of 12/18/2023, there is a procedure that is followed to determine damages and assistance availability. The State will collect data regarding the damage that occurred town by town and county by county. It takes some time to make this assessment especially with widespread damage of different levels. If the total State figure is high enough, the Governor can then declare a disaster and seek federal help. This process will take awhile and it’s always unclear whether private property will be covered. The town is and will continue to do whatever is necessary to get the maximum amount of state and federal aid possible. Fees for bona fide flood damaged items taken to the transfer station will be waived for the next couple of weeks but proof of property location may be required.NH Homeland Security and Emergency Management has stated the following: If the storm damaged your home or business, you could be eligible for assistance. If your home is your primary residence, and you sustained damage, please contact representatives at 211 or 1-866-444-4211 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday-Friday to fill out a damage report. Winter Regulations By Lynn JonesDecember 8, 2020 TOWN OF BARTLETTPUBLIC NOTICE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~TOWN WINTER REGULATIONSThe Selectmen want to remind residents of the town winter regulations:No parking is allowed on any town roads and cars will be fined and towed if they are blocking snow removal or emergency vehicle access. This parking ban is on 24 hrs. a day seven days a week from November 1 until May 1 each year.You may not plow or snow blow across or into a town road. This leaves humps and ruts in the road and creates a safety problem for the snowplow operators.As a courtesy to our residents, there is a sand/salt mixture pile available at the Town Hall for Bartlett residents to pick up a bucket or two for their dooryards only. It is not meant to be used to maintain long driveways. It is located to the right of the salt shed and there is an orange sign. Commercial operators are NOT allowed to take this. Under no circumstances should anyone be taking salt (which is in the shed) or accessing the large sand pile due to safety and access reasons. All sand is the same and has salt mixed in. Please use the front driveway for access in order to stay out of the way of the highway crew that may be working in the side and rear areas of the property.The town is not liable for any damage to objects that are placed within the town’s right-of-way such as mailboxes, fences, etc.If there is a prediction of rain as part of the storm, some roads may not be totally plowed so that it can soak up the rain to avoid freezing. If they plow and then we get freezing rain, the road turns into a skating rink.We may also experience a truck being down and needing repairs. We will get the truck back on the road as soon as possible.Your cooperation in complying with our regulations, staying out of the way of our plow trucks, staying home unless you absolutely must go out, and patience is appreciated.
