Previous Next Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust Membership & Giving Volunteer Land Protection and Stewardship News Current Projects Ausbon Sargent Begins Campaign to Protect Grantham Property Ausbon Sargent has started a campaign to raise funds to protect 151 acres on Route 114 in Grantham, which abut the protected Reney Memorial Forest. This property is called "Byron Barton Woods" and it provides beautiful scenic views visible across from the rest area on I-89 in Springfield. The NH Wildlife Action Plan shows a portion of this property as ranking high for significant wildlife habitat, which includes rare cliffs and talus slope. The landscape is a mix of evergreen and deciduous trees with good soils for long-term forest resiliency. As part of the Sugar River watershed, this property will aid in the protection of this important resource. Lastly, there is an opportunity for low-impact recreation along the existing snowmobile trail, and future trails that can tie into the 400-acre Reney Memorial Forest. We hope you will find value in this property that not only protects our treasured wildlife, but also our important watershed, and beautiful scenic vistas for those traveling through our region.Click HERE to make a tax deductible donation to this important project. Make sure to select "Land Project" and then "Byron Barton Woods." Checks may be sent to: ASLPT at: PO Box 2040, New London NH 03257 with "Byron Barton" in the memo line. Funding from private donors like you is vital to the protection of the Byron Barton Woods property. Building Dedication at 71 Pleasant Street is Complete! The Ausbon Sargent office building has a new sign, declaring it the "Nancy Chase Lyon Building." The dedication of this building is due, in part, because of Nancy's "see a need, fill a need," selfless and thoughtful dedication to the land trust. To read the whole story about Nancy and why this honor has been bestowed upon her work and her memory, turn to page 15 of the Winter 2024 issue of Chatter. Ausbon Sargent Protects 5.12 Acres in Andover Ausbon Sargent is happy to share that a conservation easement has been finalized on a 5.12-acre property in Andover, with frontage on the Northern Rail Trail, Route 11 and Sucker Brook. The McDonough property, owned by the Town of Andover, lies between two of Ausbon Sargent's existing easements. Nestled between the 54.25-acre Roger Hersey easement and the 41.77- acre Perry easement, the addition of this acreage creates just over 100 acres of protected land in this area, which is important for wildlife movement in the region. This property also protects Sucker Brook, which flows into Webster Lake. With the addition of this acreage, Ausbon Sargent has now protected 13,546 acres of land in our region! This webpage contains over 500 words of content.
Because search engines crawl and index content, and the more content that a webpage has the greater potential for the page to rank for multiple keywords, webpages should contain a good amount of content with more than 500 words being a good benchmark for a regular page, and 1,000 words for blog posts.
The content should be rich with quality, original content - not containing "fluff" just to fill up the space. Having more content will also likely help the page to rank better for search queries as well as rank for more search queries.
Images on page: 4, Images with alt text: 0, Percentage: 0%
0% of the images on this webpage contain alternate text description tags.
Alternate text descriptions for images allow visually impaired website visitors to still be able to understand the context of an image. All images on a page should contain a brief and relevant text alternative to what the image displays.
